V-cam Issues

on 4/3/2015, 5:52 pm
So here's my problem. While animating, I tried adding a v-cam, and when I preview it, it's not in the same position.

Here is what it looks like while editing:

Here is what it looks like in preview:

So I was wondering if there was a way to fix it.

It's worth noting that I'm using action script 3.0 in Adobe Flash CC, and the v-cam is the one used by Jazza from "Drawing with Jazza".

Hmm.

Perhaps it has to do with your stage size?

for example, my default for flash is 550 x 400, but if the V-cam isn't set for that size, it won't look as you had set it up. so if my default is 550 x 400 but my V-cam size is set up to 640 x 360, the position will change when I render it.

Went and found the dude you were talking about and he says the vCam is made for AS2 (ActionScript 2.0), so that's what your problem is. The vCam is not working so it only shows the area that is within the set parameters of your canvas. All you need to do is change the ActionScript from 3.0 to 2.0 and it will work. You should be able to do that in properties.

i believe that in flash CC AS2 isn't available anymore though, so this isn't really the proper solution.

here's an AS3 vcam. see if it works.

I figured out that it was just the v-cam, since I did some searching on deviantart and found one that works for me. Thanks for the help anyways.
