yes. just create a image with the dimensions of your movie in photoshop (or whatever, really. as long as it has a lens flare filter), make it entirely black, and apply the lens flare filter on it.
then save and import in flash, and put it inside a movieclip.
after that just put it on stage and set the blending mode to either lighten, screen or add. it won't be rendered dynamically though (like it is in AE. which means that you can't change it in flash), but that should be enough really.

you can get more indepth with it by cutting the different pieces and animating them separately, though.

make sure it doesn't look overdone, by the way. lens flares can look really tacky most of the time. be careful

Alright, I'll bite. How'd you get the ground to... be a ground. Like is that a texture that you repurposed or did you find it like that or what?

that's a texture from sonic generations iirc, i'll have to check though. but yeah its just a texture. the other earth texture thingy is from ssbb.

you can find pretty much all those textures i used on the textures resource.

Alright cool. So you just modify it in AE to make it look like a ground then?

Re: maplebajspoop

yeah i just rotated it -90 degrees in the X axis. aside from that i didn't really do much with it, aside from a slight brightness/contrast adjustment.
also, since someone asked me about the depth of field effect: that's an automatic thing, you just turn it on when you create a camera. only 3D layers are affected though.

Nice lighting. There's an aesthetic to it that you've made around the whole scenery with it. The color pink looks like a good highlight for the whole animation.

There's a lot in the background, but not enough in the foreground. There space between those two elements just makes it feel empty. I just seen a bush, a sign, and some logs.. It doesn't feel complexity of the environment feels sufficient, but it could be better.

Re: maplebajspoop

well so for that 2nd enviro/map/whatever i need to have an portal/gate thing, and i couldn't just stand using this flat image

so i edited it so i can hopefully make a really basic 3d version

EDIT: more

i'm probably doing a huge mistake by doing it all in AE and i could just model it in an actual 3D software but no fuck that
