SEGA buys Atlus

Speaking as a massive Sonic fan, this is probably the worst possible outcome of this. Guess I can say goodbye to seeing any more localised SMT

Why couldn't it have been Gung-Ho

I don't have any worries about them runing Persona, I'm just worrying about my chances of actually getting to play it without importing the games. I'd hope they let Alus just go ahead and do their own thing, since they thought Atlus was worth buying in the first place they're clearly aware that the games sell well.

On the bright side, at least we might get some Atlus representation in any future crossovers. Jack Frost in All-Stars Racing sounds pretty beast haha

edit: relevant
This was made over half a year ago what the fuck

In the acquisition of Index, SEGA also got ahold of MADHOUSE. This is of no relevance to me as I'd never heard of them before now, but I think the chances of a new Sonic anime just went up...

Okay probably not but I can dream dammit

If SEGA couldn't get a partnership with Platinum fucking Games to work I doubt Atlus' chances

Index have just been turned into a new branch of SEGA, so they're obviously content to just let them do their own thing, but SEGA has a really bad history with localising anything not named Sonic. Hopefully Atlus USA stays intact.

This will be good news for SEGA, Persona or Shin Megami Tensei are good IPs, as long as they don't involve in their projects the same way how Nintendo works with Game Freak or Intelligent Systems it'll be the same.

President of Atlus said business will resume as usual. Nothing is going to happen concerning SMT, Persona, etc.
