I liked Shadow the Hedgehog, but yeah, it did give me a boring feeling, more then Sonic Heroes did. The only thing I only hated was the messed up story progression ( I could never finish that game because of the arrows sending me everywhere) and the long long missions to be Hero or Dark.

As long as we have some proper classic Sonic aesthetic up in here. It'll be like Sonic Colours but ten times prettier! Especially with the possibility of proper real-time global illumination this time around as well.

(Still wish we had gotten Starlight Carnival in Generations...)

So apparently having graphics that aren't incredibly generic and completely unmemorable is a bad thing now. Fuck aesthetic appeal, man, I want generic cities boring space stations that all look the same!

Like, even if you do prefer SA2 to all the other 3D Sonic games, i don't see how you could possibly compare SA2's boring cities and fifty-something space stations to the beautiful art of Sonic Colours, Sonic Generations, Sonic Adventure and the Megadrive games (excluding Sonic & Knuckles)

Hey guys I disagreed with someone without writing a giant text wall I feel so proud

But how could you possibly say Sonic Colours looked bad? No matter what you think of the game its visuals were fucking gorgeous. And now we have a game that isn't limited by the Wii's hardware either.

Do you just hate good things or something?

like I said, did I ever say it looked bad? all I said was No.

I don't mind pretty, sonic colors looked great and I do enjoy graphics. all I'm saying is when I play a sonic game, "Pretty" isn't what i'm looking for.

So I'm confued, are you saying that you don't care about the graphics or that you don't want it to look pretty at all. Because that's what the word "no" kind of suggests.

I wasn't sure if that was legit or not.

Which is pretty stupid considering I was the one talking about Wentos now I think about it, so... yeah.

How long is it until E3 anyway, becaus that's when all the information will be revealed. Before then I'd expect nothing more than an announcement and maybe a short trailer.

Re: Sonic Discussion - Sonic Boom

The title Lost World implies another monster of the week apocalypse story. Tell me it isn't so, SEGA!

... Or I suppose they could make it so that the monster doesn't overshadow Eggman as the big threat. Maybe we could have a Super Sonic fight with the monster in space or in a volcano or under the ground or in the giant ruins or whatever dramatic battle location they can dream up, and then just when we think everything is fine Eggman shows up in a giant mech and Sonic has to stop him one last time. Or hell, even switch it up and have the Super fight be with Eggman.

I don't care as long as it isn't another apocalyptic God story in which Eggman unleashes a giant monster, gets betrayed and is promptly annihilated. He could tame it as his cute little pet god monster for all I care haha

Re: Sonic Discussion - Sonic Boom

Welp, Lost World was just announced at Nintendo Direct. It's for the Wii U and 3DS, and apparently the next three Sonic games will be exlusively on Nintendo. I'm not entirely sure if this includes the new Mario and Sonic though. It does.

This would either mean that the "main series" game on all platforms is not coming until this is over with, or is still heavily in development and they're giving us these games in the meantime. What this does mean is that they likely have another game in development right now that we don't know about. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a new Storybook game, but at this point literally the only info we have on anything is a single screenshot of Lost World that rveeals nothing about the game. Why the fuck did SEGA have to learn how to keep a secret now of all times?

Notably though, the new Mario & Sonic is taking actual locations from both the Mario and Sonic franchises, like Isle Delfino and what appears to be Speed Highway in some sort of Bobsled game. Did the London Olympics do this as well or was it just generic stadiums?

Also lol at fanboy raging because of Nintendo exclusive Sonic games. And here I was thinking Sonic fans were getting better

Re: Sonic Discussion - Sonic Boom

No thanks, I think I'd prefer a game that isn't another rehash. I don't care how amazing the game would be, it would be even more amazing with original content and levels, and I'm kind of tired of SEGA playing the nostalgia card.

Also image

From what I can see, we have a fire stage at the top right, an ice stage next to that, a desert level to the right, a canyon/mountain level to the left, what appears to be a city at the bottom, probably a water level since the hexagons have green shapes on them which common sense dictates to be islands, and grassland everywhere else.

Spiritual successor to Sonic CD?

Re: Sonic Discussion - Sonic Boom

on 5/17/2013, 1:30 pm
idk, the screenshot is literally all we have. You can see it in the latest Nintendo Direct.

Apparently we can expect information "prior to E3," though, so I guess they're going to slowly reveal information over the course of the next few weeks (Whether it be details about the plot or gameplay videos or simply a few screenshots) to hype us up for E3, which is probably a lot better than just giving us a fuckton of information on the game all at once.

I never even noticed Sonic and Tails on the tornado until someone else pointed it out lol. Sonic Excursion may have been fake, but I'm still certain they're going to have at leats Tails as a playable character, if not Knuckles and maybe some other less important character. But Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are a must, as long as Knuckles has a proper reason for tagging along this time.

I wonder if there will be any nods to Sonic CD or if the planet's resemblance to Little Planet is all we'll get. Not that it bothers me much since I never particularly liked CD, but what with the amount of classic Sonic fanservice Colours had I wouldn't be surprised. It's nice to see the classic games being reintegrated into the games' continuity.
