Voice Clips High Pitched? [FIXED]

on 9/20/2012, 11:37 pm
Whenever I try to import an WAV Voice clip of a Bleach Character into Flash 8, their voices become high pitched and squeaky?

This problem was solved by Blue Shenron, thanks a million bro :)

Here's the file:

Lock this shit up

I explained this in a tutorial thread already.
Flash doesn't agree with samples that are not a specific sample rate.
It only accepts sample rates of 11025, 22050, and 44100. Those are the standard rates. If Flash is given a sample that ISN'T one of those, it will decrease or increase the sample rate to match what it's looking for. The result will either be lower pitched sounds or higher pitched sounds.
Use an audio editor, or something like Format Factory for batch conversions, and convert all of the samples to the next highest sample rate.

Woah, I haven't seen Mr. Lange on in awhile. Thanks for that, I'll make sure to keep that in mind, but I don't understand how installing Quick Time solves the problem? Care to explain that

Heres the problem fix.

Download audacity, import the file that is high pitched in flash, look at the bottom left corner and you should see the Hz label, that sound should be about 16000 or so in hz. Click the tab and select anything higher 22050 to 44150 or so should do it then export it ( make a folder named audacity edited sounds if you want and export it there) and that should do it.
