radial blur

opened fireworks, blurred it, then this happened.

Create a new file, copy your sprite, crop the canvas so it's roughly around this single sprite then do it again.

But Fireworks isn't the best thing ever for filters so I advise you use something else like GIMP.

No.

You're doing a radial blur with something selected. So when you blur once it hits the border of the selection area it'll stop because it's assuming that's the only part of the stage you want blurred.
You need to have the sprite on it's own canvas but the canvas has to be big other wise the blur will cut off at the edges of the canvas.
