ok i think i got it... so DON'T use tweening alot?





Eric = Owns the place

Mr.lange = Epic animator, one of the best of saw so far. (Can't wait for NASF 2!)

There are two forms of animating with flash.

A.) Tweens - An easier form of animation, but a good one. a lot of flash animations are done with tweens, which is what I use. I lurve dem tweenz.

B.)FBF (frame by frame) - A harder form of animation, but if you practice it enough, may be the more successful one.

I used to do frame by frame when I used pivot 3 beta, and it was actually pretty good. anyways, just practice on both, then you'll be better then us all XD

i think FBF will come out better but it will take some more time

so normally i will go with tweens cause i'm lazy

What Ping endorses with FBF (the sliding thing) is basically easing, done manually. The same animation that Ping showed in his last post here can be done with tweens.

Thing is that if you want more control, FBF your animation. It will give you freedom to do whatever the heck you want.

I animate more with tweens but I generally use a significant amount of FBF motions in my anims.

..... alright i think i get it, use fbf if u r going to want to have more control ex: in ping anim he seemed not to use tweens also if im going to do sprite anims im going to have to use fbf AND tweens to make a good anim so say mario is going to punch i get the wind up sprite and skew it so it looks like more force then i make a middle frame of the same wind up sprite just not skew'd then the punch and follow thru right? but to get the concept u guys r talking about im going to have to use fbf more often cuss im a tween user and i dont use fbf. :/ (and use tweens for less advance movements ex: the jump of sonic, him moving up pause for like 3 frames then fall.)

yeah you got it man!

and use tweens for stuff like walking, it will be stupid to make it by FBF
