I been given the option to take antidepressants to help me with my depression. But I really don't know if it really worth it. Should I try alternative methods are should I just take it.

Antidepressants wont be very helpful. You gotta do what I do when Im depressed:

Watch Looney Tunes, drink some juice you loved as a child, get nice and nostalgic, and give off a happy squeal of joy every now and then.

Or beat up the closet thing to you and then laugh for 3 minutes

anyways, for once tal is actually right. You don't need medicine unless you're fugging suicidal and if you are suicidal then I want to punch you in the face.

I look at most medicine as just a crutch. Unless it's a life threatening disease you don't need medicine to do anything, I've got ADHD and my parents put me on medicine for four months. I was a shadow of my former self. I didn't have the energy I had, my personality had completely changed and I hated it. I told them to knock it off with the medicine and I began to take control of my ADHD myself.

you can do the same thing with depression. grab it by the horns and fuckin rape your depression. Make it your bitch. Find things to be happy about, like the fact that you're not in africa starving your ass off without any shelter, constantly surrounded by disease and without food, water, etc.

That's what I do if I ever feel depressed.

I've started taking Prozac, and it's been pretty great.

For those of you who say antidepressants don't work, you seriously don't know what you're talking about.

If you're seriously depressed and want to get better and just overall feel better, you should take it.

Although, I've been told Prozac doesn't work for everyone, but it worked pretty decently for me.

It not necessarily so serious but it affecting me to the point that it lowering my grades me losing friends or getting yelled at. Also it just makes me more lazy...since I don't wanna get out of bed when I feel sad. Like it comes like in waves like if something happens to me that really gets to me I get depressed. Or I can just wake up like that to thinking of a bad life experience or some crap.

Feeling depressed? Play games. GOOOD GAMES. Games you used to play. IF not helping? Find your best friend and play multiplayer. If not helping get more friends until you have 4-player nerd gang and for example start searching some 4-player games and rape your enemyes while laughing with your friends. Medicine? NOPE!!!

Medicine works differently for every person. you won't trully know how it will effect you untill you try it. It can make you more depressed or it can make you happier than a hobo who won the lottery.

I suggest you try other things first(games, exercise, random walks when the weather is perfect in your oppinion, ect) and use the meds as last resorts.

but I still look at medicine as a crutch. but hey, that's just me. I don't get really depressed because I honestly have nothing that I should ever be depressed about. I'm a lot more fortunate then most people even with my family's financial crisis.
